Should 'Abstinence-Only' Sex-Ed be Taught in Public Schools?

Teens Want Information

American Public Health Association

The same study cited above that found that most teens b elieve that teens should be given a strong abstinence message also found that 81 percent of teens wish young people were getting more information about abstinence and contraception. Only 2 percent of teens feel that adolescents are getting enough information on these topics.

Teens want comprehensive sexual education that allows them to learn more about the reasons to be abstinent, as well as ways to keep themselves safe from STIs and unplanned pregnancies whenever they do decide to become sexually active.
